How do I connect setup my IntesisHome device so that I can control my Air Conditioner from my smartphone / webpage?

Setup of an IntesisHome device so that you can monitor and control your AC remotely (with your smartphone or through our website) is a three-step process:

  1. Device Installation

Each device is installed in a different way, so please follow the Install Guide document of your device.
You can find the manuals in our web.

  1. WiFi Configuration

Pair the device with your home WiFi network, so that the device can access IntesisHome cloud service in the internet.

  1. Device Registration

Create an IntesisHome account in our IntesisHome cloud service if you do not have one yet, and associate your physical device to this account, so you can monitor and control the parameters of the AC in your installation.

  1. Infrared configuration

In case you are configuring the Universal Controller, you will have to configure Infrared to control your AC unit.

WiFi Configuration

Follow steps below for successful pairing/connection of your IntesisHome device with your WiFi network:

1. First make sure that the IntesisHome device has its LED in steady green status. This is telling us that the device is awaiting WiFi configuration.

If device is not in steady green LED light status (for example, red blinking), you will need to clear WiFi configuration of the device. To do so, keep pressed IntesisHome device button for 10 full seconds, then release it. After 2-3 seconds, device will go to steady green. See location of IntesisHome device button below (next to its LED light indicator).

2. Now take your mobile phone and search for available WiFi networks from your iPhone or Android settings area to choose what WiFi you want your phone to connect to. You should see one open WiFi named INTESISHOMEXXXXXX or DEVICEXXXXXX. Connect to it. Phone might report that there is no internet connection in this network, it’s fine.

On this step we assumed that you’ve downloaded IntesisHome mobile application in your phone. If you didn’t, please do it so on the following link.

3. Then, using IntesisHome mobile app, apply steps in: https://www.intesishome.com/docs/IH_Quick_Wireless_Config.pdf

Remark on step 4 of the document, it assumes you’re not logged in with your IntesisHome account. If you do have an account and are logged in, you’ll find same button referenced in step 4 of document above, by going to Settings section from main screen. There at top-right corner you’ll find same + button to configure device.

Following the steps in the document, the device will attempt to connect to your WiFi. LED of the device will go changing colors for 2-5 minutes, applying latest firmware updates to itself and successively restarting and reconnecting to your WiFi network. When all updates are done, and device is steadily connected to IntesisHome cloud service, LED of the device will go completely OFF.

In case that LED of the device doesn’t go OFF after a reasonable time (~10 minutes), you may need to restart the WiFi connection process (from step 1 in this list). There is a chance that you have entered wrong password. In case you’ve attempted several times and are still not able to get the device connected / led OFF, consider IP/DHCP settings of your network and internet connectivity behind your WiFi router. If you still do not achieve this step (LED of the device completely OFF) and are unable to identify or solve the cause, do not continue with the steps below and contact us explaining your problem at support@intesishome.com. Please provide us with the MAC Address of your device, which can be found on the silver label that’s attached to the surface of the IntesisHome device (or the packaging of the device itself).

Device Registration

To link a device to an IntesisHome user account, accessible via IntesisHome webpage or mobile application, you need to go through the following steps:

  1. If you still don’t an IntesisHome user account, create one. You can do it from the mobile app main screen by clicking the Register button or through IntesisHome webpage clicking on Create account.
  2. Go to “settings” area of IntesisHome’s interface (either web or app) and check for a section named “devices”.
  3. In section “devices”, within settings, you need to choose the “add device” option.

At this point, you can add it in your IntesisHome account. To do so enter manually the 25-digit alphanumeric code included in your IntesisHome device included in a separate sticker included in the IntesisHome device packaging. You can also find this code in the silver label at the back of your device.

Infrared configuration using autolearning mode

To set up the IntesisHome device with the infrared handheld remote controller you must go through the following steps.

  1. Press IS-IR-WIFI-1 button for 4 seconds, release it. LED of the device will go white afterwards, telling us it’s in auto-learning mode
  2. Take your handheld infrared remote for your AC and, pointing at the IntesisHome device, press AC On/Off button. This will send out a frame, that our device will recognize.

If the remote controller is already registered in our database, the LED of the device will blink in green. If the remote controller is not in our database will blink in red. If the LED blinks in red, please contact us asking for technical support and we will help you.

  1. Our device will program itself to be compatible with that AC unit.

For further information please refer to user manual chapter 6 IR Configuration.

Name or password of my WiFi network has changed and I can no longer control my IntesisHome device. How do I setup the new settings of my WiFi to my IntesisHome device?

If the properties of your home WiFi Network have changed, you will need to clear the WiFi configuration of your IntesisHome device and setup the new one. It’s relevant that, to do so, you will need to have access to the physical IntesisHome device itself, to operate its button and get visual feedback on its LED light status.

Once you are next to the IntesisHome device, you’ll need to keep pressed the button of the device during 10 full seconds and then release it. LED light of the device will go steady green, telling us that current WiFi configuration for the device has been cleared, and device is awaiting a new configuration.

Now we just must follow the steps for the device WiFi configuration FAQ.

WiFi pairing / connection process of my IntesisHome invariably ends with the LED of the IntesisHome device going red and green alternate blinking (LED not OFF) and I continue unable to associate it to my account

The green and red blinking in IntesisHome device LED light is telling us that the device cannot connect to your WiFi installation and therefore can’t connect to the internet and to our servers.

Most common cause for this is having entered the password of your own WiFi incorrectly when asked during the process. Repeat the configuration procedure a couple of times.

Now if you’re sure (after some failed attempts) that you’ve entered the password correctly and are still getting the device in red and green alternate blinking status, reason will likely be caused by a networking problem.

You may need to review your IP, DHCP settings (are you using static IP’s in your WiFi network? Is DHCP enabled?).

If still don’t succeed, or simply are not sure as to what to check, please contact us asking for technical support and we’ll kindly assist you. We ask you to provide serial number / MAC address of your device, so that we can help you better.

I try to go to ihconfig.com to set up my device, but it does not work at all

The ihconfig.com procedure is outdated and applicable only to older firmware versions / devices that have not been updated. Whilst we’re phasing out documentation referring to that older configuration process, please check WiFi Configuration FAQ. The process is now based on using the mobile app.

“Device not connected” error appears in my mobile app when I try to register my 25-digit alphanumeric registration code

Before associating your device to your account, the device must be connected to the Internet (through your home WiFi), otherwise our database won’t recognize the device and you won’t be able to link it with your account.

To make your device work and link to your user account, please follow How do I connect setup my IntesisHome device so that I can control my Air Conditioner from my smartphone / webpage FAQ.

I have moved to a house with an IntesisHome device installed in it. What should I do to be able to control my AC unit with my phone using that device?

If you are new to the house, you will probably have a new WiFi network as compared with whatever WiFi settings the device had (WiFi settings for previous owner).

You will need to clear settings, create an IntesisHome account and link the device to it.

Please follow steps in Name or password of my WiFi network has changed and I can no longer control my IntesisHome device. How do I setup the new settings of my WiFi to my IntesisHome device? FAQ explaining how to do so.

However, there is a high change that you can’t succeed in the last step – this is, you can’t link the device to your own IntesisHome account, as the device is associated to former owner’s account.

In that case, you need to ask the former owner to log in to IntesisHome app or webpage, and clear association of this device to his account / release it. In the I plan to sell my house, including its IntesisHome devices. What should I do so that new owner can use IntesisHome to control the AC units? FAQ there is more detail on how to do so.

In case that you can’t contact of the previous owner, or he has difficulty in applying the described procedure, we will help you in getting control of that device / manual assignation from our end.

To proceed, we will need an email from you at support@intesishome.com. It’s very important that in that email, you include a picture of your physical IntesisHome device, showing its serial number. See below as to see the picture we need you to send us:

IS-IR-WIFI

XX-RC-WIFI

XX-AC-WIFI

Further detail on that process is explained in: I get a “device already assigned” when I try to register my IntesisHome device FAQ.

I plan to sell my house, including its IntesisHome devices. What should I do so that new owner can use IntesisHome to control the AC units?

If you want to let your devices ready for a new owner to use, you need to release your device from your account. To do it, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to IntesisHome website and log in with your credentials.

Once logged in, go to Settings section, and choose Devices.

  1. Hover the mouse over your list of IntesisHome devices. Once the mouse is on one device in the list, a garbage bin will appear. Click on the garbage bin and select the delete option on the popping up window. This will release your device.

After you’ve unlinked your device, next step is locating the physical IntesisHome button and pressing it for 10 seconds. This will erase the WiFi configuration and set the device ready for a new one.

At this point, the new home owner/user should apply normal steps mentioned in How do I connect setup my IntesisHome device so that I can control my Air Conditioner from my smartphone / webpage? FAQ to have control of the AC units using the IntesisHome devices attached to them.

I get a “device already assigned” when I try to register my IntesisHome device

This message appears because the device you’re trying to register has already been registered on another account, since our devices can only be linked to one account at once.
Contact us asking for technical support and we will manage the issue for you. The procedure we follow to release the device, so it can be registered by the new owner is the one described below:

  1. We need you to send us a picture of the physical IntesisHome device, showing its serial number. See below as to see the picture we need you to send us:

IS-IR-WIFI

XX-RC-WIFI

XX-AC-WIFI

This will be used as a proof that you have the device.

  1. Using that information, we will be able to identify the previous user and email him with instructions on how to unassign the device from his user account, so you can use it. We will advise the previous owner that the device will be automatically unassigned from his account if no action is performed from his side.
  2. In case no answer is received from the former user, or no action is performed from his side, after one week (7 days) of having sent previous email to user, the device will be released manually, and we will notify you of the situation, so you can proceed in linking the device to your account.
I have set up my Universal Controller, but I can't interact with my AC unit

If you own an IS-IR-WIFI, once you have successfully connected it to the internet and linked it to your account, there is an important step to not be forgotten.

You need to setup your IntesisHome device with the model of infrared handheld remote controller you have, so that our device can interact with your AC unit model.

To do so, please follow steps from Infrared configuration using autolearning mode FAQ.

I have control of my AC units from my smartphone using an IntesisHome device, and I would like other people in my house to be able to control them too from their phones

IntesisHome is a multiuser platform, so you will have to create the users you need and give them the right permissions. Follow these steps to do so:

  1. Log in to your IntesisHome account using in the web and go to settings, then users.
  2. Add a new user by clicking on the ‘Add user’ button and fill in all the required details.

  1. The secondary user will receive a confirmation email. To have access to the system, the secondary user will need to confirm the email sent to him. Until this is not done, you’ll see the user as “Pending to activate”.

If it does not appear in his inbox folder, please make sure that it is not in the Trash, Spam or Junk folder.

Please note that the secondary user can be disabled or deleted at any time, denying him the access to your AC unit.

As we said before, you can also manage the permissions you want to give to that user, granting access to as many devices as you want

Please note that these secondary users will only be able to access the Control area. They have no access calendars or scenes.

For more detailed information, please refer to the interface user manual, chapter 7.3 users.

If you prefer to grant full access to other users you can share the user account, as you can log in to the IntesisHome system from as many devices as you want, and you can control your AC Unit simultaneously.

To do it so you just need to:

  1. Download the mobile application in the mobile phone or phones from which you would like to provide control capability of your AC unit.
  2. Once installed, open the app in each new phone and log in with your own IntesisHome credentials.
I bought a new smartphone and I want to be able to control my AC units from IntesisHome back again

You just need to download the mobile app (IntesisHome) from your new smartphone. Once installed, open it and log in with your IntesisHome credentials.

Remember you can log in either using your IntesisHome username, or also the email you had for registration. In case you forgot your account’s password, use corresponding link in login page to reset your password.

I am not receiving any email when trying to reset my password

If you can’t find the recovery email, please check the trash, spam and junk folders of your mailbox.

If no success, please contact us asking for technical support assistance and we will assist.
